Installing french doors
Need some tips on installing french doors.Have installed interior and exterior new and remodel doors and sliders but never a double slab door.It is going to relace a single door in office in a nonbearing wall so will make R.O. when I actually have the unit.I am assuming that a quality prehung is easier than hanging from scratch as the walls are plumb.Any people who have had good luck with a particular make also your thoughts would be appreciated. Is going in a friends house so I have plenty of time to make sure it is done right, thanks.
Exterior door questions
My back door is all glass and single pane. I want to either convert it to double pane, or just replace it if it's easiest. Size is 31.5" so do I get a 32" and have it cut down? Most doors I've seen seem to come in full inch widths. Also, is there a way to insulate the current door glass aside from applying film? If I go with a new door, I would prefer just the door and not prehung although will go that route if it looks badly out of square. Any recs for a reasonably priced exterior with glass? I don't want to lose the light. Thanks in advance.
