There are so many window types, jen.
casements, double-hungs, sliders, awnings...
wood, aluminum, vinyl, wood-clad...
removable sashes, factory-sealed, field-glazed...
my blind guess is: try removing your *front door* first. remove it at the hinges. that'll create a full 36" opening. still won't fit through? how about removing the furniture legs?
the window idea is the next step. it takes somebody who knows to LOOK at it closely to tell you for sure.
